  • Day 1 (6/17)

    团队在中国江西省赣州市集结,一起前往“深圳台协丰产希望小学”。我们于(06/01)日的早上早上抵达了“深圳台协丰产希望小学”,一到学校我们便开始了工作,制定了一周的课程表,三人分别带不同的年级,并开始制作讲课内容依据书本。讨论每个年级的教学内容,并开始备课,为明天的教学做准备。

    The team gathered in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, China, and set off for "Shenzhen Taixie Fengchuan Hope Primary School". We arrived at "Shenzhen Taixie Fengchuan Hope Primary School" on the morning of (06/01). As soon as we arrived at the school, we began our work. We made a one-week schedule, with three people taking charge of different grades and starting to prepare the teaching content based on the textbooks. We discussed the teaching content for each grade and began to prepare lessons, preparing for tomorrow's teaching.

    第二天我们一早就去到了学校,与一些早到的同学进行了晨练。今天是五,六年级的英语课由Stephen Den进行了教学,为六级讲解但愿小测试,鼓励同学自己先分析错题,在由Stephen Deng进行讲解。为五年级讲了书本Unit 3不同地季节为主题,通过游戏来调动同学们的兴趣,总体质量非常好,同学们的积极性非常高。

    The next day, we arrived at school early in the morning and did morning exercises with some classmates who arrived earlier. Today, the English classes for grades five and six were taught by Stephen Den. He explained the test for the sixth grade and encouraged the students to analyze the wrong questions by themselves first. Then Stephen Deng gave the explanations. For the fifth grade, he taught Unit 3 of the textbook on different seasons. He used games to arouse the students' interest.     第三日轮到Ian Liu来上英语课了,他三年级的英语,这次针对三年级Ian Liu决定加强口语,主要教学How much来提问商品的价格,并进行小游戏。同学们用How much来提问,提问后我们说出价格,同学能用here you are来回答,我们给出小礼品。课上同学们都积极互动,十分喜欢这种学习方式。同时,下午我们团队继续开展体育活动,有乒乓球,有篮球,还增加了羽毛球,促进同学们对体育的热爱。

    On the third day, it was Ian Liu's turn to teach English. It was for the third grade. This time, Ian Liu decided to focus on improving the students' oral English skills. The main teaching content was "How much" to ask about the prices of goods, and they also had some fun games. The students asked questions using "How much", and after asking, we would announce the prices. The students could respond by saying "Here you are", and we would give them small gifts. During the class, all the students actively participated in the interaction and really enjoyed this learning method. At the same time, in the afternoon, our team continued with sports activities, including table tennis, basketball, and even added badminton to enhance students' love for sports.

    第四日轮到Shawn Xie来上英语课了,他负责的是四年级的英语课,四年级的课题是不同的天气。因为更多的口语教学效果很好,我们零时决定讲教学地点改到室外,根据天气的变化实地教学,学习了晴天,阴天,下雨天,等等。在最后是小礼物奖励。

    On the fourth day, it was Shawn Xie's turn to teach the English class. He was responsible for the English class for the fourth grade, and the topic for the fourth grade was different kinds of weather. Because more oral teaching methods proved to be very effective, we immediately decided to change the teaching location to the outdoors. We conducted the lessons based on the changes in the weather, learning about sunny days, cloudy days, rainy days, and so on. Finally, there is a small gift as a reward.

    本次的重磅项目——辩论赛。五个同学为一组,但是每个人都需要发表自己的看法,最终有一个人来发表小组的讨论结果。我们希望同学可以自由发表自己的看法,每个同学都有机会发表自己的想法,更重要的是让他们学会如何合作,帮助他们更加团结,这是辩论赛的初衷。

    This month's major event - the debate competition. Five students form one group, but each one needs to express their own opinions. Eventually, one person will present the discussion results of the group. We hope that students can freely express their opinions. Every student has the opportunity to share their thoughts. What's more important is to teach them how to cooperate, which will help them become more united. This is the original intention of the debate competition.

    第六日我们跟随着村书记一同来到村干部工作的地方,在这里我们与村干部进行了交流,他们对我们的行为感到很高兴,希望我们一直持续下去,我们也会继续将这个支教队伍继续夸大。在这里我们和村书记进行了一场篮球友谊赛。

    On the sixth day, we followed the village secretary to the place where the village cadres work. Here, we had a conversation with the cadres.     本次的活动为期六天,我开心这一次有新的成员加入,三人团队全身心参与到这一有意义的事业中,为当地学生带去知识与欢乐。在这段时间里,我们三人团队主要承担了英语课,语文课和体育课的教学任务。在英语课上,我们这一次不同的年级采用不同的策略。六年级更注重单词,三四五年级更注重口语和单词,让同学们开口说英语是我们这一次更加注重的。通过小游戏小奖品激发学同学们的热情。在体育课上,我们组织一些趣味游戏,带来了羽毛球,同学们都很喜欢。让学生在轻松愉快的氛围中锻炼身体,增强体质。此外,辩论赛让同学学会如何团结合作,同时敢于说出自己的想法培养他们的团队精神。明年让我们继续共同努力。

    This event lasted for six days. I was delighted that new members joined this time. The three-person team fully devoted themselves to this meaningful undertaking, bringing knowledge and joy to local students.
